I'm doing some speculating here.
The winds of war are blowing stronger
and stronger each day for war between Israel (U.S. included - no doubt) and Iran.

Shifting my focus to the Jerusalem Temple Mount --
Many
articles show immense desire on the part of religious or patriotic Israelis to get rid of the Al-Aqsa Mosque
and Dome of the Rock (Al-Sakhrah Mosque) - get them out of the way.
Because, they block construction
of Israel's new Temple - on the old Temple site.
I've heard it suggested - perhaps an earthquake might
destroy them. Maybe.
Better yet, perhaps Temple Zealots might arrange for "collateral
damage" from missile exchanges during the next war, to take out the Dome and the Mosque.
It's hard to imagine they would miss such an opportunity.
Obviously any overt effort
by Israelis would create immense anger for Muslims.

Barak is very very realistic conserning the huge destruction, physical
and economic, etc., that would likely take place in Israel.
