1Timothy makes clear we must provide
for our own houses:
if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.
On the other hand Jesus Christ said, in Matthew:
19 Lay not up for yourselves
treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:
20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither
moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
We can "lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven" by spending our money
in support of God's purposes.
We see, in the
media, much evidence that national and world rulers cannot be trusted.
And it is these people that write the banking regulations.
Speaking off the top of my head, I have heard, but cannot confirm, that if our nation were to default
on national debt obligations, that citizen's property can be confiscated for payment of those obligations.
So, it is much better to "lay up
for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal."
Some will find this hard to hear, but I do not trust many of our church and religious leaders.
Jesus made clear that many of the religious leaders in his day were working for Satan.
think many modern church leaders are false Christians, so I do not channel significant money through them.
I try to figure out where the Lord wants me to give, and give directly to those persons or groups.
As the video made clear, any funds, be they church, local government, church, personal, or other, placed in big commercial
bank accounts can be lost if a bank fails.
