"Gave Up the Ghost" in Older King James, Geneva Bibles is Correct - "He Breathed His Last" is SLEAZE

Genesis 2:7 says, "And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul."

In the language of both Old and New Testaments God makes a deliberate analogy between breathing air and the implanted spirit or soul.

No doubt God breathed air into Adam's nostrils, but it was the implanted soul that gave Adam life. ONLY the Lord Jesus Christ can get one's soul to heaven!

When someone dies, they "give up the ghost" in the older, King James and Geneva Bibles, but they "breath their last," in the popular modern language bibles.

It can be argued that either is correct as the underlying Hebrew or Greek means to "expire."

BUT IN LIGHT OF JESUS CHRIST'S GREAT MISSION, ONLY "GAVE UP THE GHOST", OR "YIELD UP THE SPIRIT" IS FAITHFUL TO CHRIST AND HIS GREAT MISSION OF SAVING SOULS.

"Breathed his last," while technically correct, blindsides the reader to the critical fact that it is the departure of the soul that causes, and occurs at death and only Jesus Christ can get one's soul to HEAVEN!

Bible readers must be repeatedly reminded of this and their need to embrace the Savior before their death.

"Breathed his last," in the modern bibles, is SLEAZE! -- It contributes, and I believe, deliberately so, to blindsiding innumerable unsuspecting persons into HELL. It is a worthless and bad rendering, and I suspect deliberate evil.

Modern psychology is dedicated to denial that we are supernatural souls.

And thus denial of any need for Jesus Christ to save our souls.

Ask one of their experts -- "What causes our consciousness?"

Their answer will be, "chemistry." This is scientifically FALSE.

The Supreme Law of Nature - the Second Law of Thermodynamics - says, "entropy (disorder) increases."

Chemistry WRECKS stuff, it does NOT make stuff.

Chemistry corrodes equipment, spoils food, mutates genetic codes -- it WRECKS - it does NOT make stuff.

We are conscious because we ARE supernatural SOULS.

Our SOULS cause our bodies to be alive.

Death IS the departure of the SOUL.

When someone dies the King James, Geneva Bibles, and other old ones, say he "gave up the ghost."

This faithfully reminds readers that the soul departed. The soul's destination is heaven -- OR HELL.

Popular modern bibles sadly blindside folks to this reality by saying, "he breathed his last."

It is worthless for us to be informed that the air went out of his or her lungs for the last time.

Vine's Expository Dictionary says: "

Ghost (Give up The):

"to expire," lit., "to breathe out the soul (or life), to give up the ghost" (ek, "out," psuche, "the soul"), is used in Act 5:5, 10; 12:23 ."

New Testament passage Hebrews 10:

³⁸Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.

³⁹But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.
